Transylvania Wallachia

From SighiÅoara, we made our way to Curtea De ArgeÅ via Sibiu. Very much wanted to go via the Transfagarasan Highway, but in Oct, the road is closed

Literally just passing through. Sibiu is supposedly very nice too, but we just did not have enough time

We actually left Transylvania, and am in Wallachia now

Stayed in Christina pensiune in Curtea De ArgeÅ

The pretty train station in Curtea De ArgeÅ

Some of the local children playing beside the railway track

The train looks alot more modern than the ones we took though!

The staff/crew are all very friendly

In fact, this lady (conductor of some sorts) wanted to have her photo taken!

They were all smiles! Even the driver!

It was a lovely sunset

Dinner was at this restaurant in Hotel Confarg, just opposite our guesthouse. The food's decent, and we tried some Romanian wine

One of the lousier breakfast we had in Romania...

The usual foggy mornings we had for past 3-4 days. The fog sometimes lingered till almost noon!

Wasted the whole morning trying to reach Poienari Citadel, the 'real' Dracula castle. Got lost (using a GPS, haha!), and in the end, decided to skip it and travel to Bran Castle instead!

As we travel back into Transylvania, the autumn country landscapes are stunning, with the FÄgÄraÅ mountains in the background!

Some locals just enjoying a beautiful day!

The infamous Bran Castle, which we couldn't get in cos it was closed for the day!!!

Schoolchildren waving to us tourists

Final journey to Brasov, where we will be taking the overnight train back to Budapest

Just managed to capture this sign, which we see many of during our journey in Romania. Drum Bun (pronounced Droom Boon) literally means Good Road, which actually means Good Journey! It was a joke bcoz many of the roads are not exactly good....
