At the narrowest point of the pass is Ali Masjid, a mosque. Above this mosque is a fort which commands a strategic view of the Pass. This is the western gateway to the south-asian subcontinent in the olden times. Kyber Pass is thus historically legendary as many races and dynasties made use of this passage
