Phongsaly
The 1st phase of the journey to Phongsaly from LP is to Nong Khiaw. It was popularly done by boat via the Nam Ou. But nowadays, apparently, most people prefer to go by bus (faster), so unless you have enough people to charter your own boat, I took a minivan to Nong Khiaw
